I tell them that their belief in their own infallibility is what makes them read my comments on their essays less carefully, and thus continue to fail papers. Let me know if you ever teach those articles; glad to be of help.zemmelyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01217872533250581698noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9093656301131519576.post-1267248821709476222011-09-02T13:57:02.320-04:002011-09-02T13:57:02.320-04:00I am very jealous of your generational diversity! ...I am very jealous of your generational diversity! I've never read them!)Casie Fedukovichhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05714469714954981873noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9093656301131519576.post-87945087265869562392011-09-01T22:17:47.590-04:002011-09-01T22:17:47.590-04:00I've faced similar hostility when I teach Laur...I've faced similar hostility when I teach Lauren Slater's "The Trouble with Self Esteem" and Lakshmi Chaudry's "Mirror, Mirror on the Web." <br />It's interesting to see the non-traditional students (at Pellissippi, especially in the evening classes, I'll have a good few of them) argue with the younger ones who are used to constant praise.
