She was quite worried that she didn't have enough stuff. All of those binder with all of those sections, and every day she would change what kind of borders she wanted on the pages, and I would have to reprint everything and replace them individually in page protectors. The most important thing to remember about dressing for the MLA (and this took me a few years to learn) is that what's on your body is much less important than what's in your head. Skip the hours of shopping and spend them instead feeding your brain. Just make sure you look neat and clean, and no one will notice your clothes.Robinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15743314801886209001noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9093656301131519576.post-68888470568632864162011-12-22T21:46:18.642-05:002011-12-22T21:46:18.642-05:00"My high school didn't hold classes durin..."My high school didn't hold classes during the week of Thanksgiving because so many people were absent. I agree that having brain breaks that are productive helps when you're overwhelmed by the same kinds of tasks day after day (reading, writing, grading). Great minds think alike, too - I posted a very similar set of thoughts on my blog last August when I first started the CRDM program: http://megsroadtophd.blogspot.com/2010/08/earning-your-phd-is-like-designing.html. What I didn't realize when I wrote it, though, is that the work on the house (designing, renovating, whatever it may be) is a really important outlet when work is overwhelming or you finish a big project. It became a welcome "other task" for me this summer while I was revising something for publication and was like a big reward for getting it done - I then got to focus on creating something that I love to see everyday and just cheers me up in the house!Meagan Kittle Autryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00091828113297533959noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9093656301131519576.post-6641488935010224162011-09-05T20:41:27.495-04:002011-09-05T20:41:27.495-04:00This article was posted on a friend's FB today...This article was posted on a friend's FB today: http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2011/07/how-to-land-your-kid-in-therapy/8555/2/Casie Fedukovichhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05714469714954981873noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9093656301131519576.post-83326168913952409102011-09-02T17:56:43.319-04:002011-09-02T17:56:43.319-04:00I teach those two essays fairly late in the semest...I teach those two essays fairly late in the semester, and I can usually make a pretty good example even of the younger students.
